A walk in the quiet woods today....As I stood on my deck holding a bird to keep it warm after it hit my patio door this afternoon, I stood watching all the other birds in the woods and an awesome Barred Owl flew into the trees right in front of me.I had to wait for the little one in my hands to come around so I waited patiently with her cupped inside my hand in my coat.She finally got her wits back and flew off so I grabbed my camera and a warmer coat and headed into the woods.This owl was kind enough to let me get pretty close as I think he was patiently waiting for one of my squirrels to come out of hiding for his supper!
